Czech Stone Carving

As a gift to Cuba, Glen Lojka, a Cuba native who now resides in Manhattan created a stone carving. The stone is 7 ft 8 in tall, 5 ft 2 in wide, 18 in deep and weighs over 8,000 lbs.

This carving is a tribute to a typical Czech immigrant family of the late 1800’s that was just unloaded at a train station in a new world.

Glenn started the project in the summer of 2004 and completed it in May of 2005. A dedication ceremony was held on July 16th, 2005 during the Harvest Festival and the stone carving is now on permanent display on Cuba Main Street.
